Dr. Turner is a board certified dermatologist in New York City who practices Mohs Micrographic Surgery, laser surgery, and light therapies. He is assistant professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and is Director of Dermatologic and Laser Surgery. Dr. Turner graduated summa cum laude and valedictorian of the University of Maryland Baltimore County. He received his Doctor of Medicine from Harvard Medical School and was honored with the Henry Asbury Christian Award for his research accomplishments. He completed his internship in medicine and his dermatology residency at the Harvard-affiliated Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the Massachusetts General Hospital, respectively. He has also completed an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Procedural Dermatology at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. He is a member of the American College of Mohs Surgery, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the American Academy of Dermatology.
His dermatologic clinical research interests and publications have focused on skin cancer treatment and prevention and he has multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology. He has also studied the interactions of antioxidants as it relates to photoprotective mechanisms in skin tissue and has special interest in treatments that reduce photodamage, wrinkles, and stimulate new collagen growth.
In addition, as a Howard Hughes Medical Fellow at the Harvard School of Public Health, Dr. Turner studied clotting mechanisms and therapeutics that could be applied to cardiovascular disease and stroke. This work was published in The Journal of Biological Chemistry and the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. Prior to these research accomplishments, he has also published extensively on the structural components of HIV in journals such as Nature.
